Member Announcements Guidelines

Community Council publishes a weekly e-newsletter containing news items and events of interest to our community, members, and partners. Community Council Organizational Members may submit announcements for publication on our website and in the e-newsletter.

Ways we can help you reach out to the community:

  • Promote your upcoming events and fundraisers
  • Publicize your trainings, program activities and services
  • Publish information about grants your organization makes available to our community
  • Search for qualified candidates for your volunteer and job opportunities
  • Publish links to your community surveys
  • Solicit for projects for your volunteers or students
  • Get the word out about your mission

Guidelines for submitting announcements and calendar listings:

For calendar listings, send an email.  Your calendar item will be added to the Calendar with the next E-Newsletter. The event announcement will appear for 2 weeks in the E-Newsletter. The event will appear as a scheduled date on our Community Calendar which is listed under "Events" until the event date has passed.

  • For announcements, send an email by Monday at noon* for distribution in the E-newsletter the following day (Tuesday), pending space. Your announcement will run once in the E-Newsletter and will be included on the Member Announcement page of our website (which is linked to the E-Newsletter each week). We keep job announcements posted on our website for 3 weeks, and other announcements approximately 1 month (unless there are specific dates in the announcement) . If requested, we can repeat an announcement one time and/or keep the announcement on our web page for a longer period of time as requested.
    *On weeks when a Federal Holiday falls on a Monday, the submission deadline is the previous Friday at noon.
  • Submit text as you wish it to appear in the E-newsletter. Images of fliers and marketing materials cannot be used as a source for the announcement as they do not provide the source text. Please send all graphics and flyers in JPG or PNG format.
  • If you wish the announcement to be repeated, you must make that request each time you want the announcement to appear in the following week's E-newsletter. Articles will run once but will remain in the News and Member Announcements for 3 weeks or until the date of the event passes.
  • General press releases should be accompanied by a specific request for inclusion in the announcements.
  • It may be necessary to hold announcements for the following week if a very large number of requests are received.
  • Priority will be given to time-sensitive information, whenever possible.
